Rainbow Children’s Hospital has announced Superstar Mahesh Babu as their Goodwill Ambassador amidst much fanfare at Park Hyatt hotel today. The announcement was preceded by a panel discussion on the hospitals vision and journey so far with Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman and MD and Dr Dinesh Kumar Chirla, Director. The event also included a riveting Kuchupudi ballet performance by famed danseuse Deepika Reddy’s troupe.
Speaking on the occasion Mahesh Babu said,
“Rainbow Hospital has set benchmarks in childcare and are well known
for their efforts to provide high standards of health care for children.
I would like to commend their commitment in providing world-class
health care services for newborn babies and children. I feel proud to be
the goodwill ambassador for this Hospital Group and hope that lending
my support would assist them in gaining greater heights in this noble
endeavour. I wish them well in their mission to have Rainbow Hospitals
present across the nation.”
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Ramesh Kancharla Managing Director, said, “Team
work is the very soul of our entity as Rainbow Group. We are thankful
to Mr. Mahesh Babu for his unequivocal support as our Goodwill
Ambassador. I would also like to express our gratitude to likeminded and
dedicated child specialists, who joined Rainbow, supported and
strengthened the idea further by working alongside to help bring this
vision to concrete reality. For us at Rainbow, our greatest measure of
success is in the number of smiling faces, love and appreciation from
our children and their parents and the tremendous support from the
medical community.”
Today
Rainbow is spread across Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Bangalore with 700
bed strength, which is perhaps the largest children hospital group in
the country & would be very soon emerging as the largest in Asia
pacific region with its ongoing projects at Visakhapatnam, Chennai and
Jaipur. According Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, the Visakhapatnam and Chennai
hospitals with a bed strength of 150 beds each will be operational in
two years time. Another 100 bedded hospital in Bangalore at Jayanagar
will be functional in six months time. We will have a state-of-the-art
Children's hospital on Road no. 2, Banjara Hills in twenty four months
time, this will be a model children's hospital, he said. We opt for an
asset light model and don't invest into land and buildings for all our
projects. All the existing and upcoming projects at Hyderabad,
Vijayawada, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam and Chennai are fully owned by
Rainbow Hospital, however we are evaluating a subsidiary model by
associating with local doctors for Jaipur and Pune projects, we are in
an early discussion phase for joint ventures in Pune and Jaipur, he
said. We have strong internal accruals, trusted investor in CDC, UK. We
raised 100 crores last year, last year has been debt free. Will meet investment needs through internal accruals, utilise leftover money from CDC and may raise debt, for the Chennai and Vizag projects, he said. Regarding foraying into foreign markets, he said there is phenomenal scope for tertiary care children's
hospitals in South Africa and other African countries, there is a huge
dearth and need for such facilities in these countries, but in the
immediate future we want to concentrate on our country, he added.
15years of Rainbow Journey
Research
has clearly demonstrated that the outcomes for the paediatrics and
Neonatal diseases are immensely better in dedicated children’s hospitals
as against multi speciality hospitals. In keeping with this ethos,
right from its inception, Rainbow has strived to achieve excellence in
the service provided to children requiring super specialty care in a
child family friendly environment without compromising on quality.
Today, with integrity, excellence, innovation and teamwork, Rainbow has
evolved as the nations leading and largest group of children’s
hospitals. Rainbow Group’s successful journey began on 14th Nov
1999, on Children’s Day. It established the first tertiary care
children’s hospital in South India with specialized healthcare services
for Infants, children and adolescence. Rainbow not only established
tertiary care hospital, it focused on building paediatric super
specialities like paediatric Neurology, Gastroenterology, nephrology,
Endocrinology, Pulmonology and advanced surgical centre to deal with
Neonatal and Paediatric surgeries mainly by performing most of the
procedures through minimal access.
Rainbow
Hospitals aim to provide high standards of care for the mother, fetus,
new-born and children so that none of them is deprived of a tertiary
care facility. Rainbow has also established perinatal centre to deliver
comprehensive pregnancy care, safe birthing experience and provide
comprehensive newborn care to optimise and make it seamless child
birth. The hospital's clinical staffs include strong team of highly
qualified and experienced Consultants, dynamic team of residents and
fellows, well trained nurses and paramedical personnel, and highly
motivated team of full- and part-time employees.
One
of the core philosophies of Rainbow is to establish post graduate
training programmes. Today, Rainbow runs one of the largest post
graduate programme in the country and also offer fellowship programmes
to specialise in New Born Intensive care, Children’s Intensive care and
Paediatric super specialities.
